Last week, actor Sonu Sood grabbed all the lime-light, when he walked out from Kangana Ranaut starrer Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. Talking about it, Kangana said that he left the project as he didn’t wanted to work under a female director. Now, Sonu has reacted to her comment and justified his exit. In an interview with HT, he said that he never had problem of working under a female director as he has worked with Farah Khan in Happy New Year. “That was not my statement. I never said that I don’t want to work with a female director because I have already done a movie with a female director (Farah Khan, Happy New Year). I only said I can’t be working with two directors on one set.”
Known for his performances in films like Dabangg and R… Rajkumar, Sonu said that he has never worked with two directors at a time. “I will always maintain that stand and in a span of all these years, whatever films I have done, 80-90 movies, I have worked with one director at a time. So that is my stand and I will always stick to it.” (Also Read: Exclusive: Arjun Rampal, Sonu Sood and the Paltan gang reveal as to who was the biggest prankster on the sets)
Sonu Sood’s spokesperson recently released a statement, which says, “Sonu has always been a thorough professional and honoured all his commitments. He had informed the makers of Manikarnika about his dates and schedule well in advance. Inconveniencing the team of his current film to accommodate the demands of another are against his professional principles. Sonu has taken the higher road ahead and wishes the team of Manikarnika all the best.” Apparenlty, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub has replaced Sonu in the film. Talking about Manikarnika, the film is set to hit the screens on January, 25, 2019 and will clash with Super 30, Cheat India and Thackrey at the box office.
