Nandamuri Harikrishna death: Police officials reveal the seat belt could have lessened the impact

After the untimely demise of actor-politician Nandamuri Harikrishna, film industry and political circles were in a state of shock. Harikrishna is the father of actors Jr NTR and Nandamuri Kalyanram and son of late N.T.Rama Rao. The veteran politician was on his way to Kavali, Andhra Pradesh to attend a wedding when the freak accident happened. Road experts and police officials say that the impact could have been way lesser had Nandamuri Harikrishna worn the seatbelt avoiding him from falling out of the car.

“Had he used a seat belt, probably the impact would have been less and he could have survived. According to the other passengers in the car, he did not wear a seat belt and was also driving at high speed,” Nalgonda district SP AV Ranganath told NDTV. Road experts too opine the same and say that there could have been a distraction which may have caused the accident.

Nandamuri Harikrishna’s car was speeding at 160 km/hr when the accident happened, according to police officials. Authorities also say that the spot of accident did not have any sudden braking marks explaining the way the accident could have occurred. ALSO READ: Nandamuri Harikrishna passes away: Nagarjuna, Devi Sri Prasad, Allari Naresh, Kajal Aggarwal condole the death of the actor – politician
